An imminent military exercise has local Texans scrambling for their guns. Why?  Because of Obama, of course.

Jade Helm 15, the largest military exercise in history, is months in the making. Beginning on July 15, Jade Helm will test the skills of 1,200 troops, namely Green Berets, Navy SEALS, Air Force special operations teams and Army infantry. The exercise scenario involves infiltrating hostile areas and collaborating with freedom fighters and rebels.

The event will take place on private land and military bases, and only 60 troops will be stationed in Bastrop, Texas. However, Texans who live in Bastrop and beyond reckon that is 60 troops too many.

Among legitimate concerns of traffic disruptions and delays, local worries and rumors include:

– The exercise is a precursor to Obama declaring martial law.

– The military is practicing how to oppress American citizenry.

– Bona fide ISIS jihadists are being flown into Texas to give the exercise authenticity.

– Undercover military members in civilian clothing will be testing American loyalty in Texan communities.

– Troops will seize the firearms of local gun owners.

All of these claims have been refuted by the Pentagon.

That hasn’t stopped Texas Gov. Greg Abbott from ordering the state National Guard to keep an eye on the exercise.

“It is important that Texans know their safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed,” Abbott said of the exercise.
