Parting is such sweet sorrow / That I should shall say good night till it be morrow / Exit JULIET.
Many speculate that these photographs were deliberately “posed” and orchestrated during World War II by an extremely skilled (and very creative) photographer, rather than spontaneously captured as serendipitous “slice of life” moments by a very fortunate journalist.
At this point, though, who cares? They’re spectacular. And are very appropriate this week, as we gear up for honor those who so heroically fought for our country through the years.
That is, Memorial Day.
